Stop 70+ foot tall Sport Stadium LED lights at PHS 2nd TuRF FIELD

Unfortunately, you read that right, the overflow field at Pennsbury High is being geared up for a new sports venue with it's own score board, lighting, and rental contract. No details on stadium seating yet and our students still have to pay to use their own fields. So, why do we need 75 feet tall lights...maybe televising the games is next?

5 of 9 school board member seats open

To run for a board seat, a couple people registered (ie: Dell and Boice), but you can write a name in...choose your person!

Whatever you think...VOTE so someone is standing for you when you can't make the meetings.

New Pennsbury High school project

A third of the East building is now considered to be a tear down and rebuild thanks to the decades long decisions made by the PSD school board and facilities sub committee.

West needs a civil engineer to re-configure it...add rooms to combine some of the dead end hallways and close excess doors currently at the end of those dead ends.

Do the water repairs that have been needed for 25 years.

ACT 34 Meeting on SEPTEMBER 4th 7pm fallsington elementary school

Before anyone builds a new building on wet virgin land, maybe the PDE should provide some over sight.

However, PA law lets PA school districts have local government autonomy allowing PSD to skip this step by simply not asking for referendum and by saying the build will be below 500k sq ft or under $300M... after you review the research, please let us know if you think either number is realistic.

act 34 HEARING

SEPTEMBER 4th

7pm

Fallsington Elementary School

In Pennsylvania, Act 34 requires public hearings for substantial school construction projects, ensuring transparency and public input. These hearings, often referred to as "Act 34 hearings," allow the public to review and discuss proposed project costs and other details. The hearings are typically held by the school board and involve presentations from architects, financial advisors, and other relevant parties.

Key aspects of PA Act 34 hearings:

  • Purpose: To inform the public about proposed construction projects, including estimated costs, project scope, and financing plans.
  • Applicability: Act 34 applies when a project becomes substantial enough in scope to require public meetings and further cost calculations.
  • Public Input: The hearings provide a platform for community members to ask questions, express concerns, and offer feedback on the proposed project.

  • Required Documentation: A "hearing booklet" is often prepared, detailing the project, costs, financing options, and other relevant information.
  • Attendance: While attendance can vary, these meetings are open to all interested parties. the school board and involve presentations from architects, financial advisors, and other relevant parties.
